Your gynecologic surgery in Monterrey

Fellowship-Trained Minimally Invasive Surgery

Dr. César Cantú completed a formal fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery after his residency — a full post-residency program, not laparoscopy learned along the way. He treats deep endometriosis (staged with the #ENZIAN classification), performs laparoscopic hysterectomy and myomectomy, operative hysteroscopy, and da Vinci robotic surgery for complex cases. He is currently in training in neuropelveology at the Possover International School of Neuropelveology (ISON), completing Levels 1 and 2 — an area of pelvic-nerve pain that few surgeons in Mexico pursue formally.

World-Class Medical Facilities in Monterrey

World-Class Medical Facilities in Monterrey

Surgeries take place at Hospital Ángeles Valle Oriente in San Pedro Garza García, Monterrey — accredited operating rooms, advanced laparoscopic and robotic equipment and private rooms. Your stay is one night for major surgery, with 24-hour nursing, and your wound check and pathology results are reviewed in person at 7 to 10 days, before your return flight.

Surgical Procedure

Major laparoscopic or robotic procedures (endometriosis, hysterectomy, myomectomy) are performed under balanced general anesthesia and take 2 to 3 hours, followed by one night in hospital. Operative hysteroscopy takes 20 to 40 minutes, needs no anesthesia and no overnight stay. Before and after surgery, validated questionnaires (EHP-30, PHQ-9, GAD-7, Central Sensitization Inventory) measure your progress — you receive a measurement of your recovery, not just a promise.

Frequently asked questions

How long do I need to stay in Monterrey?

For major laparoscopic or robotic surgery (endometriosis, hysterectomy, myomectomy) plan about 14 days: arrive 7 days before surgery (minimum 3), one night in hospital, and fly home about a week after surgery once the in-person wound check at 7–10 days is done. Operative hysteroscopy is a 2-day trip.

Will I receive a surgical plan and a price before I travel?

Yes. After a video consultation you receive a written surgical plan in English with an itemized quote — surgeon, anesthesia, hospital, hotel and transfers — before you decide to book any flight.

Who performs the surgery and where?

Dr. César Fausto Cantú Yruegas, an obstetrician-gynecologist with fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, board-certified by the CMGO (Mexican Board of Gynecology and Obstetrics) and a member of the AAGL and FEMEG. Surgery takes place at Hospital Ángeles Valle Oriente in Monterrey, a two-hour flight from Houston, Dallas and San Antonio.

What happens after I go home?

Remote follow-up by WhatsApp and video call, with structured questionnaires at 1, 4 and 10 months completed online from your phone. Validated instruments (EHP-30, PHQ-9, GAD-7, Central Sensitization Inventory) measure your progress before and after surgery.

Can I combine my surgery with a vacation or bring a companion?

Yes. Summit coordinates your hotel and ground transfers, and companions are welcome. We recommend keeping the first week after surgery for rest and short walks, and scheduling any activities around your wound check.
